Roberta Wagner

 

 

Roberta Wagner has more than 40 years of experience in the financial services industry in senior regulatory and consulting roles. When working with troubled banks facing regulatory enforcement actions, her approach has been characterized as creative, positive, and essential to the financial institution’s survival.

She currently serves as the advisor to the Washington Bankers' Association Enterprise Risk Management development program. 

 

As an executive with the Office of Thrift Supervision, she led national regulatory process changes and developed many of the improved examination policies and procedures that still form the basis for today’s regulatory processes. As the Director of Bank Supervision with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s New York office, she had responsibility for regional and problem banks from Maine to the District of Columbia.

 

As a consultant, she has conducted numerous management assessments, led board enhancement programs, assisted management in developing policies and procedures, and facilitated strategic planning sessions. She also co-founded and subsequently sold The Director Resource Group, a leading consulting firm for boards of directors of financial institutions, which assisted directors in meeting their fiduciary obligations.

 

During her tenure at the Comptroller of the Currency, she worked in all phases of asset classification, studied loan review best practices, and led the loan review of both domestic and international departments at regional banks.

 

Roberta is also an accomplished artist. Studying in the early 1980s with master potter Vally Possony, she progressed to the study of glaze chemistry, architectural ceramics, and now works with primarily with textiles. Click here to learn more.
