Serving on a financial institution board of directors is complex. Our knowledge of the industry and corporate governance enable us to provide a full array of services to help in that process.
Preparation
- We help identify the additional skills, expertise, or representation needed on your board;
- We review current board compensation to ensure that it is competitive and sufficient to attract quality candidates;
- We review corporate governance policies, committee charters, and the director selection process so that we can accurately describe the process to candidates; and
- We review current financial performance and regulatory status so that we are able to explain that to potential candidates.
Search
We conduct a search for qualified candidates. We are aided in this process because of our work with Cate Goethals at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. Cate is an expert on women in leadership and we are working together to develop resources to add qualified women to boards of directors.
Candidate Review
Over the years, we have interviewed literally thousands of financial institution directors. We have a good understanding of the type of person that will be able to perform well. We will interview all candidates and conduct reference checks prior to referring a candidate to you.
Candidate Orientation
We can help provide an orientation program for new directors to help them get up-to-speed more quickly. We provide help with the alphabet soup of banking, orientation-training programs, and the basics of banking.
